To create more possibilities, Envision created Inclusive Innovations (ININ) for pockets of brilliance to join forces and talent to initiate change together. ININ is your golden ticket to experiencing break-through assistive technologies and connecting with accessibility advocates shaping our lives for the better.

Attendees enjoy a perfect mix of workshops, presentations, tech demos and networking with the sole mission to create a more accessible future. visitors come across life-changing technology for the first time and get the chance to try it out and talk with the talent behind it. Every year, the event is free to attend and 100% accessible and welcomes crowds filled with innovators, advocates, researchers and individuals for the blind and low vision community.

DTFA

The "Disruptive Technologies for Accessibility 2021" event, held on November 11, 2021, showcased emerging assistive technologies enhancing accessibility for people with sight or hearing loss. The platform united innovators and advocates with technologies like smart glasses and navigation apps to enhance everyday accessibility.

ININ Aftermovie

The European edition in Utrecht, Netherlands, November 2023, united accessibility champions, tech innovators, and the blind and low-vision community for impactful workshops and networking. Highlighted by Bartimeus Fonds' innovation challenge announcement, the event fostered impact-driven conversations in accessibility.

Our Keynote: Dr. Amit Patel

Dr. Amit Patel, renowned Accessibility Advocate, TV presenter, author, and campaigner—also known as @Blind_Dad_UK shared his story of empowerment through challenges. His journey, from overcoming his sudden loss of sight, independence and freedom to navigating a world that often sees disability symbols before abilities, showcased the power of perseverance. Amit's narrative resonated as a testament to the transformative potential within setbacks, urging a shift in perspective towards inclusivity and the celebration of abilities over disabilities.

The ININ Panel

A diverse panel brilliantly, chaired by Robin Spinks, Principal Manager of Digital Accessibility at RNIB, hosted Dr. Amit Patel (@BlindDad_Uk / BBC - Dog Squad), Parham Doustdar (Booking.com), Jos Verbrugge (University of Amsterdam), Jonathan Ward (Thomas Poklington Trust) and Alice Burrows (Unilever).  The panel tackled the tipping point for organisational culture and the understanding of accessibility, stressing the need to make these issues visible and relatable to everyday experiences. Common themes emerged such as governance, the power of peer support and self-advocacy and the importance of continuous learning and empathy in fostering inclusive environments.

Will sign language interpretation be available?

We aim to make our event as inclusive as possible. If you require a sign language interpreter, please inform us in advance by emailing vanessa@letsenvision.com.

Is the event conducted in English or Dutch?

Inclusive Innovations is primarily an English-speaking event. However, the 'IAm Design Session' in the morning accommodates Dutch speakers. Since the event is in the Netherlands, the networking fair allows for conversations in various languages. If you prefer, there are applications available that can translate English into your native language, enabling you to follow the speaker program seamlessly.

I'm encountering difficulties when trying to order a ticket on Eventbrite. What should I do?
